On the handover of our club presidency to Rotarian John Tyers our club has sent the new President Ms Krystyna Janicz, our twinned Warsaw club, and her council our warmest greetings and best wishes for the continued success of their club over the coming year.
We wanted to let our Sister club know about our new programme under our new President John. We advised them that at our 1st Rotary meeting of the new presidency we had opened with a very interesting speaker talking about the history surrounding the African slave trade. Also that we have a full year ahead of us of activities both Rotary and social which we are looking forward to. Our polish club responded by sending their Congratulations and best wishes for President John and all the members of our club for the coming the new Rotary year. They started the year with a very interesting speaker - a commercial attache of the Polish Embassy in Kuwait. Uncommon to our practice he was talking and answering many question for over 90 minutes. They also invited us to join them at our annual Charter Anniversary Ball on the 2rd of February (Saturday).
We shall not be going to visit the Warsaw club in September 2007 as planned but will be postponing this until next year in early May 2008 due to some unforeseen circumstance's which meant we could not go this year. We hope to make a party up of Rotarians and partners for a four or five day visit and to be hosted by our twinned club members.
